TikTok just introduced its latest feature called “Add to Music app,” allowing users to seamlessly incorporate songs from their TikTok clips into popular music streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify. This feature is now accessible in a whopping 163 new countries.
These newly included regions span across the globe, from Albania to Zimbabwe. TikTok initially introduced this functionality in the United States and the United Kingdom back in November. Since then, it has steadily expanded to include an additional 19 countries, including Canada, Japan, Germany, and many others.
With the “Add Music” button conveniently located below the clip description and track name, users can effortlessly select their preferred music service. Initially, users choose their preferred service, which can be later adjusted in the settings menu.
Moreover, if users opt not to specify a playlist for added songs, they will automatically be stored in a default list, similar to Spotify’s “Liked Songs” list. Notably, Spotify has recognized the significance of music discovery on social platforms and has formed partnerships not only with TikTok but also with BeReal, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter (now X) to streamline the process of adding songs to Spotify.
Last year, ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, launched TikTok Music in several countries, and they are currently working on integrating this “Add to Music App” feature for TikTok Music users as well. With TikTok’s continuous innovations, users can now seamlessly blend their favorite tunes with their social media experiences.
